For: Affordable L glass, Sharp, Great colour and contrast, Fast focus, F2 bokeh on this lens is just gorgeous !!!
Against: On 1.3x and 1.6x sensors it may be a little long for indoor use.
Canon 135mm F2 USM L

Well if only all L glass lenses were this price !! This is a fantastic lens dont think because the price is at the lower end of the scale you're getting a low end lens - you'd be VERY wrong.
The focus system is probably the fastest I've ever used rivalled only by the 24-70mm F2.8 USM L.
Portraiture is where this lens really shines. It's ability to isolate a subject is nothing short of gorgeous and even without IS, in low light situations it's still light enough and fast enough to get you the shutter speeds you need. It's incredibly sharp, even at F2 which in itself is very useful - you wont be needing to use photoshop to sharpen portraits that's for sure.
The bokeh itself is the one thing I love and I mean LOVE about this lens. At F2 it gives perfect isolation of your subject and for head and full body shots the overall effect is a vivid, sharp subject with a dream-like quality to it's background and surroundings.
The overall focus system in this lens is perfect, I've used it on a 350D, 20D and Mark III and on each lower, mid range and pro body this lens performs flawlessly ( and after using lenses that hunt and hunt while the shot slips away you'll know how annoying that is !! )
This lens has 2 focus presets depending on which distance you're working at - I've tried them both in many different situations and have had any problems.
Throwing on a 1.4x convertor also gives you a little more reach ( 189mm on a 1.3x crop body ) and you'll only lose
1 f-stop so you'll still be able to shoot at F2.8 and this in no way reduces the sharpness or image quality.
So to wrap thngs up if you're looking for a lens light enough to carry around all day which has a fast and accurate focus system, sharp images with good contrast that excells for portraits then look no further.
