Canon 85mm F1.8 USM lens

This was my first ever prime lens and it opened a whole new world of photography to me.
It taught me about not only the restrictions but the advantages of a fixed focal length.

Canon 135mm f2 USM L lens

So you're ready to break into the wonderful world of L glass but fell back into your chair when you saw the prices ? by no means unfair - you really get what you pay for from the moment you mount it to your camera.

Canon 580EX II Speedlight review

My earliest experiences with using flash were not good ones. Light bounced off reflections, dazzled models with bright red eyes but that was then and this is now....

For : Much improved mounting clamp - no more wobbling flash ! Good battery life, fast recycle time, 1/300th ! Lots of available angles. Silent when recycling.

Against : It costs more than the 85mm F1.8 USM ( and several other lenses too !! ) You might miss that recycling sound.
