The world and life. 2 of the most unpredictable things ever to exist.
As beautiful and destructive as nature is from storms at sea to earthquakes to hurricanes it's hard to understand how such things can exist along with sunny calm warm days, gorgeous sunsets and gentle summer breezes. This soundtrack illustrates the change from a relaxing summers day to a storm to a full blown tour de force of natures most ferocious elements.
Starting out with a relaxing little groove using Stylux RMX, I programmed the soft saxaphone notes in. I initially used a trumpet but it sounded too aggressive so used a soothing sax, flute and violas instead of violins. I let it bounce along for a couple of bars before throwing in another drumbeat ontop of the existing one with the piano solo to build up the pace before rolling back to the soft sax again before yet another change of pace. The purpose of this was to create a build up to the more intense final section. So I built it up using more noticable instruments - mainly dramatic snares with added reverb, cello with extra EQ on the bass and high end to make the notes bite harder and choirs and a church organ before letting fly with a heavy drum kit, distorted guitars for part 1 with a guitar part that follows the bass guitar and mirrors the solo at the end of the bar, followed by a wah pedal to make the notes stand out more and padded with cellos and the church organ and double bass kick pedals on the drums to build up to the final ending note twinned with a cymbal crash.
Had great fun making this !
