Recorded using a Fractal Audio AXE FX II guitar effect unit run into a yamaha 01v96 mixing desk into a M audio 192 audiophile soundcard and recorded using steinberg nuendo 4, eastwest vsts, and addictive drums using Ibanez Jem 7VWH and Status Graphite Kingbass artist guitars.
Horrible day. Freezing cold, raining so thought I'd kill some time by making this soundtrack and drinking an obscene amount of cups of tea.
Simple enough. Laid down some drums, added some trumpets, then soft guitars, then the chorus.
Decided to start the solo straight away with the music instead of having a 4/8 bar lead-in.
Went for a softer lead guitar sound this time. Clean but with a bite. I like it, it suits the backing music ( I think ! ). Made the chorus heavier but not so heavy it takes away from the verse. My slap bass guitar technique is getting a little better due to late nights jamming away to Level 42 so threw in a little bit of slap bass to break things up.
See what you think !
